This is a spring-loaded tool which makes seating bass strings on the hitch pins a breeze. Make one full twist of the bass string (in the direction of the winding) and place the tip of the tool through the loop. Then, place the recessed end of the tool tip on the head of the hitch pin and press down. The tip will retract, allowing your sting to easily drop into place on the hitch pin without unwinding.
